Understanding the treatment
Botulinum toxin injections temporarily reduce activity in treated muscles and may soften expression lines. A consultation is an opportunity to assess suitability and discuss both the desired change and the treatment’s limitations.
At your consultation
- Consultation considers facial anatomy, muscle movement and the location of lines.
- Discuss your health, medicines, previous treatments, pregnancy or breastfeeding.
- Treatment areas and follow-up are determined after an individual assessment.
Risks & limitations
Possible effects include local pain, redness, swelling, bruising or headache. Nearby muscle weakness or temporary eyelid or brow drooping may occur. Rare symptoms involving breathing, swallowing or speaking require urgent medical attention.
Is Botox a dermal filler?
No. Botulinum toxin affects muscle activity. Fillers serve different purposes, such as changing volume or contours. The appropriate approach depends on your goals and assessment.
Can the result be predicted in advance?
Expectations can be discussed, but individual responses vary. The effect is temporary, and a particular appearance or duration cannot be guaranteed.
